Alfa Capital is the asset management arm of Alfa Bank, Russia's largest private bank, itself a keystone of the Alfa Group, a dominant player in the oil, telecommunications, retail, and financial sectors of the Russian economy.

Shortly following the crisis, as many international banks and investors pulled out of the market, Alfa Capital grew by successfully reinforcing its investor unit on the basis of Voucher Fund. Of the 740 Voucher funds developed during the 1990s, only five have survived — with only two Mutual funds still working, one being the Alfa Capital Interval Mutual Fund which was founded on the base of Voucher Fund.
